What time are you open?

Monday – Friday: 9am - 4pm

Saturday: 9am - 2pm

Sunday: Closed (usually in bed snoring)

During the lead up to Christmas, we do extend trading hours to 7 days a week. Keep an eye on our website & socials for more information.

We do have Facebook + Instagram but prefer not to rely on that as sometimes the DM’s get lost or put into junk – so we do prefer phone, email or snail mail to the shop address if you’re that way inclined.


How much is shipping on your website?

We are proud to work with the awesome humans at Australia Post & our efficient Couriers.

Goods are shipped from us here in Cairns, Queensland, Australia.

You can expect us to ship your order within 2-5 business days of receiving it in most cases. Please allow longer during peak times and sales. Orders placed on a weekend or a Public holiday will not begin order processing until the next business day.

Please note we do not ship to PO Boxes or Locked Bags
unless you select Express Shipping.

 

Flat Rate Shipping is $9.75 (this is sent via our couriers or standard Australia Post.

This is NOT express shipping. or $17 to New Zealand

FREE SHIPPING for orders over $145 (please note that if you qualify for free shipping, it will be sent STANDARD POST via our couriers or Australia Post. if you need your goodies in a hurry, please select & pay for express)

 

Express Shipping $15 (if you’re a shit person & left your gift buying to the last minute, please select this option!) in most cases, your goodies will be with you in 1-2 business days depending on our couriers & Australia Post.

We do not take any responsibility nor do we have any control at how fast your order will get to you.

Cairns Local Pick Up: if you are in Cairns & like to shop in the comfort of your own home, you are welcome to select this option at checkout. We will pop your order out the back for you pick up from our store whenever you are in town next.


*Side note: if you are not in Cairns, please don’t select this to try to get free shipping. We may look stupid but we’re not ;)

 

Do you ship Internationally? 

At this stage, no we do not. Because we don’t want to have an affair with the Manager at Australia Post we can only offer shipping throughout Australia & to our cuzzy bro’s across the ditch in New Zealand.

Can I get my gift sent straight to the recipient?

Yep.
Just add their name + address into the shipping section when you check out, we will do the rest + ensure your package is delivered straight to their door!
(don’t forget to buy a card or a gift tag though, so we can let them know how much of an awesome friend you are for sending them this gift!)

 

 

WTF! My item has arrived broken!

We really do use the utmost care in packaging your goods, sometimes even known for over packaging (>_< ) however once your order is shipped it is no longer our responsibility.
Eggplant & Poppy do not accept any responsibility for goods once they have been taken by the courier or Australia Post, including any loss or damage in transit.

We can’t be responsible for old mate at Australia Post having a bad day because his missus is giving him a hard time at home & then he takes his job a little less seriously….  

In these cases, we suggest you contact Australia Post, or our courier company & speak to them about their lost & damaged policy.

Is this on the website & how much is it?

 This is a great question when we post a product to our socials, it usually means we sell it. We do try our hardest to get our social media hamsters to pop up direct links & tags to products but in those times we haven’t had enough coffee or have a hangover & forget – jump online & do a quick search.
If you still can’t find it, scream out & we will point you in the right direction.

 

Something I love is not in stock…. What do I do??

If one of our awesome products is out of stock, you should see a little box saying
NOTIFY ME WHEN THIS PRODUCT IS AVAILABLE, just pop your email in the box & we will let you know when your sort after item is back in!

Do you do gift hampers?

Uh…. Does Donald Trump tan?

Hells yes, we do. Not only have we put together an amazing array of gift boxes – but you can also BYO (Build Your Own!) – just select a Luxe Gift Box + then fill it with any items you like from our whole entire website!


Something you purchased is out of stock or stolen…..

This happens you know.
There are mostly cool people in the world, but shit heads do walk amongst us.
And sometimes they don’t like to pay for things. So, our inventory gets put out.

In this case if an item that should be in stock, actually isn’t, we will contact you to see if you would like an alternative product, if not we will happily refund you for the out of stock item.

 

How do your gift vouchers work?

If everything was easy in the world then more of us would be able to fold fitted sheets.

We have two systems for gift vouchers.

Online: if you purchase a Gift Voucher on our website, it can only be used on our website.
The voucher gets emailed to you or your recipient.

In store: in store vouchers are for use in store only. You get an actual gift card to use when you buy in store – it looks like a credit card. But it’s not  

I know. It’s a pain in the ass. But until our POS & Website programmers & hamsters get their shit together, this is how it is.

 

Invoices + prices on products in your orders

None of these things EVER get sent in your orders, whether they are a gift or not.
We don’t send invoices & our price stickers are ALWAYS removed.

 

Where has all the packaging come from?
Nothing lasts forever & we certainly don’t want our packaging to either.

It’s all about keeping it green, that’s why we use 100% biodegradable & compostable post satchels & upcycled packaging & boxes where possible.

We try to reuse as much as possible from stock that arrives from our amazing suppliers.

 

Where are your earrings from?

We are lucky to have such a big, beautiful Magic Wall of Earrings!
Out of all of the 1,000’s of pairs you will find some that we source, some are partially handmade by us putting different components together, and then some that are completely handmade by us in the studio at the back of the shop!
They say variety is the spice of life after all….

 

Can I swap my earrings if I don’t like them or change my mind?

Due to health and hygiene standards we are unable to refund or exchange any earring purchases. We know buying earrings can be stressful/exciting/addictive/exhilarating/life changing so we encourage you to take the time and enjoy the journey of adorning your ear lobes or those of others. 

Do you swap or exchange products?

In accordance with the Australian Consumer laws, we are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change or mind or find out that Great Aunt Helen got in first with the same present (damn her and all her free time!).

Obviously should the product be faulty we are most happy to exchange and/or provide refund. 

  

Do you always stock the same products?

Hell no! That’s the fun part.

Eggplant & Poppy is always evolving. We pride ourselves on being quirky & unique (and shit hot stable table dancers), so just be aware that like current fashion trends, the tides, Miley Cyrus’s hair, our stock is ever changing and not in large quantities - and that is what makes it so exciting & individual. Especially when it comes to the handmade side of things.

So, if you like it, just like Beyoncé said, you should put a ring on i.e. just buy it while you can!
