Sheds come in many forms, from a 1x2m wooden hut where the lawnmower kicks back, all the way through to grand palaces where projects evolve from idle thoughts to drawing board to reality, where thoughts and characters find life on paper. Sheds are places where hobbies can be enjoyed, instruments learned, skills honed and businesses formed, where matches can be listened to or even watched in peace, places where inspiration can be found and the last page of a book can be savoured with far less risk of interruption. The shed may look like a ramshackle lean-to of mismatched wood that’s held together by ancient spiderwebs and hopeful nails, but in reality, the shed is a creative hub, the place where dreams are made and stuff gets done.
